This segment serves contractors, electrical utilities, electricians, and panel builders.
nVent operates a portfolio of premier, industry-leading brands with histories spanning over 100 years, including nVent CADDY, ERICO, HOFFMAN, ILSCO, SCHROFF, and TRACHTE. The company employs approximately 12,000 people worldwide, with approximately 48 percent located in the United States and the remainder distributed internationally. International sales represented approximately 24 percent of net sales in 2025.
The company traces its roots to the 1988 acquisition of Federal-Hoffman Corporation within Pentair plc. nVent became an independent publicly-traded company in May 2018 following Pentair's separation of its Water and Electrical businesses. Subsequent strategic acquisitions have expanded the company's capabilities, including the 2015 acquisition of ERICO Global Company, the 2023 acquisition of ECM Industries, the 2024 acquisition of Trachte LLC, and the 2025 acquisition of Avail Infrastructure Solutions' Electrical Products Group. In 2025, nVent completed the sale of its Thermal Management business. The company maintains a strong backlog of $2.3 billion as of December 31, 2025, reflecting growing demand particularly in the infrastructure vertical and data centers business.
