The business

International Seaways, Inc. (NYSE: INSW) operates a fleet of oceangoing vessels engaged primarily in the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products in the International Flag trade. The company maintains its website at www.intlseas.com and serves as a major player in the global maritime shipping industry.

As of December 31, 2025, International Seaways owns and operates 70 vessels totaling approximately 8.4 million deadweight tons, with an additional four dual-fuel ready LR1 newbuilds contracted for delivery between the first and third quarters of 2026. The fleet comprises Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), Suezmax tankers, Aframax tankers, and various product carriers including LR2, LR1, and Medium Range (MR) vessels. The company's ultimate customers include major independent and state-owned oil companies, oil traders, refinery operators, and international government entities.

International Seaways operates through two reportable business segments: Crude Tankers and Product Carriers. The Crude Tankers segment, which generated approximately 52% of time charter equivalent revenues in 2025, encompasses worldwide crude oil transportation and includes a specialized Crude Tankers Lightering business providing ship-to-ship lightering services in the U.S. Gulf, U.S. Pacific, Grand Bahama, and Panama regions. The Product Carriers segment, representing 48% of revenues, focuses on transporting refined petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and specialty chemicals.

The company employs a hybrid operating model utilizing both in-house expertise and third-party service providers for commercial and technical fleet management. International Seaways participates in six commercial pools—Tankers International, Maersk Tankers Suezmax Pool, Panamax International, Clean Products Tankers Alliance, Norden Tanker Pool, and Aframax International Pool—as its principal means of spot market participation. Approximately 82% of the company's aggregate time charter equivalent revenues derive from voyage charters and spot market operations, while the remainder comes from time charters and bareboat charters providing more predictable revenue streams.

The company maintains a strong balance sheet with total liquidity of $723.6 million as of December 31, 2025, and pursues a disciplined capital allocation strategy focused on fleet optimization, operational excellence, and shareholder returns through dividends and strategic investments.
