The company operates through its website at www.acushnetholdingscorp.com and serves dedicated golfers worldwide through a comprehensive portfolio of premium brands and product categories.
The company operates three reportable segments: Titleist golf equipment representing approximately 62% of net sales, FootJoy golf wear representing approximately 22% of net sales, and Golf gear representing approximately 10% of net sales. Acushnet's core business centers on golf balls, golf clubs, wedges, putters, golf shoes, golf gloves, golf gear, and golf and ski apparel and outerwear.
Titleist is recognized as the number one ball in professional golf for over 75 years, with the Pro V1 and Pro V1x models serving as the most played balls on global professional tours. FootJoy holds the position of number one shoe on the PGA Tour for eight decades and leads in golf glove sales. The company also owns or licenses premium brands including Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron putters, Club Glove travel products, Links & Kings luxury leather goods, and KJUS technical apparel.
Acushnet maintains significant operational capabilities with approximately 200 scientists, chemists, engineers and technicians across six research and development facilities. The company owns or controls the design, sourcing, manufacturing, packaging and distribution of the majority of its products through three company-owned golf ball manufacturing facilities, six global club assembly locations, and the world's largest golf glove manufacturing operation in Thailand. The company employs approximately 500 sales representatives worldwide and operates in major golf markets including the United States, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, and other key regions.
The company was originally founded in 1910 and established its golf business in 1932. Acushnet acquired FootJoy in 1985 and completed an initial public offering in November 2016. The company maintains strong intellectual property positions with over 850 active U.S. utility patents in golf balls, approximately 775 active U.S. patents in golf clubs, wedges and putters, and over 200 U.S. patents in golf shoes and gloves.
