The company maintains its website at www.albint.com and employs approximately 5,700 people across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
The company operates through two primary business segments. The Machine Clothing segment, which generated $708.1 million in revenue during 2025, is the world's leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and high-speed process belts critical to paper manufacturing. This segment supplies engineered consumable permeable and impermeable belts used in the production of paper, paperboard, tissue, towel, and pulp products, with paper machine clothing products representing more than eighty percent of segment revenues. The segment also provides engineered fabric products for nonwovens, fiber cement, and other industrial applications.
The Albany Engineered Composites segment contributed $474.7 million in revenue and serves as a leader in innovative composite technology solutions for demanding aerospace and defense applications. This segment manufactures engineered components and assemblies for commercial and defense markets, space-launch vehicles, and emerging advanced air mobility applications. The segment includes Albany Safran Composites, in which SAFRAN Group holds a ten percent noncontrolling interest. AEC serves as the exclusive supplier of advanced composite fan blades and fan cases to the LEAP program, which powers aircraft including the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX. Approximately thirty-five percent of AEC segment revenues relate to U.S. government contracts or programs.
Founded in 1895, Albany International maintains manufacturing facilities across multiple continents, with the Machine Clothing segment operating in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The Albany Engineered Composites segment maintains facilities in the United States, France, Mexico, and Germany. The company invests significantly in research and development, spending $48.0 million in 2025 to maintain technological leadership and develop innovative products addressing customer needs in energy efficiency, resource optimization, and lightweight composite solutions for aerospace applications.
