What Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPH) is a diversified, global biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes a diverse portfolio of essential medicines across the United States, India, and Ireland. The company operates through three reportable segments: Affordable Medicines, Specialty, and AvKARE.

The Affordable Medicines segment represents the company's largest business unit and includes over 280 product families covering extensive dosage forms and delivery systems, including immediate and extended-release oral solids, sterile injectables, nasal sprays, inhalation products, biosimilars, ophthalmics, and transdermal patches. This segment focuses on developing high-value products with complex formulations and substantial barriers to entry. The company has commercialized five biosimilars in the U.S. market, including ALYMSYS (referencing Avastin), Releuko (referencing Neupogen), Flynetra (referencing Neulasta), Boncresa (denosumab referencing Prolia), and Oziltus (denosumab referencing XGEVA). As of December 31, 2025, the segment had 61 products with pending applications and 43 products in various development stages, with 95 percent being non-oral solid products.

The Specialty segment develops and markets proprietary branded pharmaceutical products focused on central nervous system disorders, particularly Parkinson's disease, and endocrine disorders. Key products include CREXONT (carbidopa-levodopa extended release), RYTARY (carbidopa-levodopa), UNITHROID (levothyroxine sodium), and Brekiya (dihydroergotamine mesylate autoinjector).

The AvKARE segment provides pharmaceuticals primarily to U.S. federal government agencies, including the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs, and serves as a wholesale distributor to retail and institutional customers. The company maintains a network of manufacturing sites and research and development centers with broad dosage capabilities. For the year ended December 31, 2025, the four largest customers—Cencora, McKesson, Cardinal Health, and CVS Health—collectively accounted for approximately 71 percent of consolidated net revenue. The company serves approximately 1,300 customers overall.
