The Agribusiness segment represents a diversified operation focused on capturing profits through relationships with agricultural producers and end users as both supplier and customer. This division specializes in merchandising and managing logistics across a wide range of commodities, including whole grains, grain products, feed ingredients, and domestic fuel products. The company operates grain elevators across the United States and Canada where it earns income through commodity buying and selling, inventory conditioning for resale, and storage services. The Agribusiness segment also manufactures, distributes, and retails agricultural and plant nutrients, handling bulk fertilizers and producing specialized high-value nutrient products for industrial and consumer markets. Principal commodities sold include corn, wheat, and soybeans, with exported sales made both through intermediaries and direct shipments to foreign countries.
The Renewables segment produces, purchases, and sells ethanol and co-products through four ethanol plants located in Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio with combined nameplate capacity of 405 million gallons. The segment also operates a merchandising and trade portfolio of ethanol, co-products, and other biofuels including renewable feedstocks. In July 2025, the company acquired the remaining 49.9% ownership interest in The Andersons Marathon Holdings LLC, consolidating full control of these four plants.
As of December 31, 2025, the company employed 2,137 people across approximately 180 locations in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Mexico, Romania, and Singapore.
