The company conducts business through two primary operating segments: the Banking Business Segment and the Securities Business Segment. The Banking Business Segment provides consumer and commercial banking products and services through digital online and mobile banking platforms, low-cost distribution channels, and affinity partnerships. This segment offers deposit products including demand, savings, and time deposits sourced through retail and commercial channels. The lending portfolio encompasses single-family residential mortgages, multifamily and commercial real estate mortgages, commercial and industrial loans, equipment leases, auto loans, and consumer loans. The segment also generates non-interest income from loan origination fees, operating lease income, deposit account service fees, and technology and payment transaction processing fees.
The Securities Business Segment provides investment and wealth management services through Axos Clearing, which offers fully disclosed clearing services to broker-dealers and registered investment advisors, along with margin lending and securities lending activities. Axos Advisor Services provides turnkey technology platforms and account servicing capabilities to registered investment advisors. Axos Invest offers retail self-directed and digital wealth management services. This segment generates both fee and interest income and serves as a source of low-cost deposits.
