What BKV Corp does
In the company’s own words
BKV Corporation (NYSE: BKV) is a forward-thinking, growth-driven energy company focused on creating long-term risk-adjusted stockholder value through the development of natural gas producing assets, ownership and operation of natural gas-fired power generation assets, and selective accretive acquisitions. The company website is www.bkvcorp.com.
The company operates through four integrated business lines: natural gas production, natural gas midstream services, power generation, and carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS). This closed-loop operating model aligns these business lines to support cost efficiency, commercial optimization, and operational reliability across the value chain while meeting growing demand for low-carbon natural gas and power.
BKV's natural gas production operations are primarily located in the Barnett Shale in the Fort Worth Basin of Texas and in the Marcellus Shale in Northeast Pennsylvania (NEPA). As of December 31, 2025, the company held approximately 563,000 net acres, substantially all held by production, with average daily production of 835.5 million cubic feet equivalent per day, consisting of approximately 80 percent natural gas and 20 percent natural gas liquids. Total proved reserves reached 5,921 billion cubic feet equivalent.
The midstream business encompasses gathering, processing, and transportation of natural gas supporting both upstream assets and third-party producers. In the Barnett, the company operates approximately 870 miles of gathering pipeline, 61 midstream compressors, and one amine processing unit. The power generation segment includes a 50 percent ownership interest in the BKV-BPP Power Joint Venture, which owns Temple I and Temple II, modern combined cycle gas and steam turbine power plants located in Temple, Texas with combined annual average capacity of approximately 1,499 megawatts. The joint venture also operates BKV Energy, a retail electricity business serving over 58,000 customers across deregulated portions of Texas.
The CCUS business captures carbon dioxide from natural gas activities and other energy and industrial sources, compressing and transporting it via pipeline for injection into underground wells for secure geologic sequestration. The company commenced sequestration operations at its first CCUS project in November 2023 and expects additional projects to commence operations during 2026.
BKV completed its initial public offering in September 2024, raising net proceeds of $265.7 million. The company is majority-owned by Banpu Public Company Limited, a Thai-listed energy company.
