The company delivers a comprehensive suite of commercial landscaping services through two operating segments: Maintenance Services and Development Services. Maintenance Services generates the majority of revenues and encompasses landscape maintenance, enhancements, tree care, snow removal, and golf course maintenance across a diverse customer base including Fortune 500 corporate campuses, homeowners associations, public parks, hotels and resorts, hospitals, educational institutions, and retail properties. Development Services provides landscape architecture, design, project management, and installation services for new facilities and significant redesign projects, typically ranging from $100,000 to over $10 million per project with an average size of approximately $1.5 million.
BrightView operates through a differentiated national service model combining a network of over 265 branches with a qualified service partner network. The company serves approximately 7,400 office parks and corporate campuses, 6,100 residential communities, and 500 educational institutions. As of September 30, 2025, BrightView employed approximately 18,600 employees, including seasonal workers, across its operations. The company generated net service revenues of $2,672.8 million for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2025, with Maintenance Services contributing $1,891.3 million and Development Services contributing $789.1 million.
The company's history includes its founding as Brickman Holding Group in 1939 and ValleyCrest Holding Co. in 1949. Following KKR's acquisition of Brickman in 2013, the company acquired ValleyCrest in 2014, nearly doubling in size and establishing national coverage. BrightView completed its initial public offering in July 2018. The company operates in the $124 billion commercial landscape maintenance and snow removal market, characterized by stable, recurring revenues, scalable operations, and strong margins. BrightView maintains the Official Field Consultant designation for Major League Baseball and operates the largest fleet of vehicles in the commercial landscape maintenance industry, comprising approximately 15,000 trucks and trailers.
