C&F Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: CFFI) operates as a bank holding company providing comprehensive financial services through its principal subsidiary, Citizens and Farmers Bank, which traces its origins to 1927. The corporation maintains a diversified business model organized into three reportable segments: community banking, mortgage banking, and consumer finance.
The community banking segment represents the largest operational division, delivering traditional banking services through more than 30 branches located throughout Virginia. This segment provides checking and savings accounts, business and real estate lending, mortgage and home equity products, and installment loans to individuals and businesses. Community banking also encompasses wealth management services offered through C&F Wealth Management Corporation and insurance and title services through affiliated subsidiaries. At December 31, 2025, community banking assets totaled $2.7 billion with net income of $27.2 million for the year.
The mortgage banking segment operates through C&F Mortgage Corporation and its 51%-owned subsidiary, C&F Select LLC, originating residential mortgage loans for sale in the secondary market across Virginia and surrounding states. The segment offers conventional, FHA-insured, USDA-guaranteed, and VA-guaranteed mortgage products, with most conventional loans qualifying for purchase by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Mortgage banking assets reached $51.3 million with net income of $2.3 million for 2025.
The consumer finance segment, conducted through C&F Finance Company, purchases automobile retail installment sales contracts from franchised and independent dealerships across the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southern United States. The segment serves both prime and non-prime borrowers, including those with limited access to traditional financing. Consumer finance assets totaled $469.9 million with net income of $1.2 million for 2025.
