What CapsoVision, Inc does

In the company’s own words

CapsoVision, Inc. is a global commercial-stage medical technology company focused on developing advanced imaging and artificial intelligence technologies to create diagnostic and screening products for identifying abnormalities of the gastrointestinal tract. The company operates as a Delaware corporation incorporated in 2005 with headquarters in Saratoga, California.

The company's core product portfolio centers on its GI-tract capsule endoscopy solution, which comprises single-use CapsoCam capsules paired with associated software platforms CapsoCloud and CapsoView. CapsoCam Plus, the company's flagship product for small bowel visualization, received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2016 and began U.S. commercial sales in 2017. As of December 31, 2025, CapsoCam Plus has been used in more than 161,000 patients globally. For the years ended December 31, 2025 and 2024, the company generated approximately $13.6 million and $11.8 million in revenue, respectively, with international sales representing 21 percent of total revenue in 2025.

CapsoVision's differentiated technology features a proprietary 360-degree panoramic view capturing complete gastrointestinal mucosa visualization, contrasting with competitors' limited end-view systems. The company's capsules operate as wire-free, zero-capital-expenditure solutions storing video in onboard memory, with cloud-based analysis capabilities enabling remote provider access and telemedicine supervision following FDA clearance in December 2024.

The company's pipeline includes CapsoCam Colon, designed for colorectal polyp detection and measurement incorporating automated AI-driven pathology detection and proprietary 3D-sensing technology for polyp sizing. Following FDA feedback on its first-generation submission, CapsoVision is developing an improved second-generation CapsoCam Colon with enhanced imaging quality and expanded field of view, targeting FDA 510(k) submission in the third quarter of 2026.

Additional development initiatives include a capsule delivery device for patients unable to swallow capsules, a patency capsule for Crohn's disease patients, and exploratory studies for esophageal and pancreatic cancer detection applications. The company maintains over 140 issued patents covering multiple aspects of its capsule technology and platforms. CapsoVision's research and development team comprises hardware and software engineers specializing in medical technology, optics, data science, artificial intelligence, and cloud-based architecture.
