What CAVA GROUP, INC. does

In the company’s own words

CAVA Group, Inc. (NYSE: CAVA) operates a fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant chain with a mission to bring heart, health, and humanity to food. The company's website is www.cava.com.

As of December 28, 2025, CAVA operates 439 fast-casual restaurants across 28 states and Washington, D.C., employing approximately 12,900 team members in restaurants and 580 in manufacturing and corporate functions. The company's authentic Mediterranean cuisine features chef-curated and customizable bowls and pitas built from 38 ingredients offering over 17.4 billion combinations, designed to accommodate diverse dietary preferences including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo, keto, and nut-free options.

CAVA's business model encompasses three primary revenue streams: company-operated restaurants, consumer packaged goods (CPG) products sold in grocery stores, and digital channels. Digital revenue represented 37.9 percent of total revenue in fiscal 2025, reflecting the company's multi-channel strategy including in-restaurant dining, digital pick-up, drive-thru pick-up at select locations, delivery, and catering services. The company operates Digital Kitchens as centralized production hubs in select markets and Hybrid Kitchens with enhanced capabilities supporting both in-restaurant dining and catering production.

CAVA maintains vertically-integrated manufacturing capabilities with production facilities in Laurel, Maryland and Verona, Virginia, plus a distribution facility in Edison, New Jersey. The company operates a differentiated supply chain with over 50 trusted grower, rancher, and producer partners, producing signature dips, spreads, and dressing bases for both restaurant and CPG distribution.

The company's competitive advantages include its distinctive brand identity rooted in Mediterranean cuisine, vertically-integrated production capabilities enabling quality and consistency, a data-driven real estate strategy, and a strong digital ecosystem. CAVA was formed as a Delaware corporation in 2015, with the first restaurant opening in 2011 in Bethesda, Maryland. The company completed its initial public offering in June 2023. CAVA acquired Zoes Kitchen in 2018, providing an extensive real estate portfolio that enabled rapid expansion through location conversions, though all Zoes Kitchen locations have since been converted or closed as of March 2023.
