What Century Communities, Inc. does
In the company’s own words
Century Communities, Inc. (NYSE: CCS) is one of the largest homebuilders in the United States, operating through its subsidiaries to develop, design, construct, market, and sell single-family attached and detached homes across 16 states and over 45 markets. The company maintains its website at www.centurycommunities.com.
The company operates through two primary homebuilding brands. Century Communities focuses on affordable housing across a broad range of buyer profiles including entry-level, first and second-time move-up, and lifestyle homebuyers, offering limited customization options. Century Complete targets entry-level buyers through centralized retail studios and online channels, providing standardized homes with no option or upgrade selections. Approximately 94 percent of homes delivered feature purchase prices below Federal Housing Administration-insured mortgage limits, and 99 percent are built as move-in-ready rather than built-to-order.
Century Communities operates five reportable homebuilding segments: West (California and Washington), Mountain (Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah), Texas, Southeast (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee), and Century Complete (operating across nine states). The company also operates Financial Services, which provides mortgage origination through Inspire Home Loans Inc., title services through Parkway Title LLC, insurance brokerage through IHL Home Insurance Agency LLC, and escrow services through IHL Escrow Inc. Additionally, Century Living develops, constructs, manages, and sells multi-family rental properties, currently concentrated in Colorado.
During 2025, the company delivered 10,792 residential units, comprising 10,387 new homes, 105 previously leased rental homes, and 300 multi-family units. The company maintained an owned and controlled lot position of 60,916 lots as of year-end 2025, with 57.1 percent owned and 42.9 percent controlled through option contracts. As of December 31, 2025, Century Communities employed 1,660 people across its operations. The company's strategy emphasizes maintaining a strong balance sheet, controlling costs through digital marketing and value engineering, offering affordable housing options, preferring move-in-ready homes, maintaining a strong land pipeline, and increasing market share through organic growth and acquisitions.
