The company operates through its website at www.cognex.com and serves manufacturers and distribution companies worldwide by providing advanced vision systems, sensors, software, and barcode readers that automate manufacturing and distribution processes.

The company's core business centers on machine vision technology that captures and analyzes visual information to improve efficiency and solve critical manufacturing and distribution challenges. Cognex maintains distribution centers in the United States, Europe, and Asia. The company's competitive advantages include its technical expertise in machine vision and artificial intelligence, extensive patent portfolio, established customer relationships with sophisticated manufacturers, and a distinctive corporate culture focused on innovation and customer satisfaction.
