What Consensus Cloud Solutions, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Consensus Cloud Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: CCSO) operates as a provider of secure information delivery services through its scalable Software-as-a-Service platform. The company's website is www.consensus.com.

The company evolved from its foundational eFax brand, established over twenty-five years ago, into a comprehensive secure information exchange platform serving approximately 703 thousand customers globally across five continents. Consensus serves a diverse customer base ranging from small businesses to large enterprises and the federal government, with no significant customer concentration as the top ten customers represent approximately nine percent of total revenues.

Consensus operates through two primary customer segments. The Corporate segment, which generated approximately 223 million dollars in revenue in 2025, serves approximately 65 thousand customers including small and medium-sized businesses, large enterprises, and government agencies through direct sales channels. The SoHo segment serves approximately 638 thousand small office and home office customers through e-commerce channels, with approximately seventy-eight percent customer retention exceeding two years.

The company's product portfolio includes eFax Corporate, a global cloud fax service with API integration capabilities; ECFax, a FedRAMP-authorized solution for public sector customers; eFax Unite, a healthcare-focused platform supporting multiple communication protocols; jSign, providing electronic and digital signature solutions; eFax Conductor, an interoperability platform supporting modern healthcare standards; and eFax Clarity, an artificial intelligence-powered data extraction solution utilizing natural language processing.

Healthcare represents Consensus's largest industry vertical, with the company holding distinctions as the first HITRUST-certified digital cloud fax provider and the first FedRAMP-authorized cloud fax provider. The company maintains a workforce of 520 employees as of December 31, 2025, with just under one-quarter located outside the United States.

Consensus was spun off from J2 Global, Inc., now known as Ziff Davis, Inc., on October 7, 2021, becoming an independent publicly traded company. The business model emphasizes recurring revenue, with monthly recurring subscription revenue representing approximately sixty-seven percent of total subscription revenue, combined with usage-based fees that generate predictable cash flows and attractive margins.
