What Core Laboratories Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Core Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: CLB) operates as one of the world's leading providers of proprietary and patented reservoir description and production enhancement services and products to the oil and gas industry. The company maintains its primary internet address at https://www.corelab.com.

Founded in 1936, Core Laboratories serves major, national, and independent oil companies through a global network of over 70 offices in more than 50 countries with approximately 3,300 employees. The company completed a redomestication transaction in May 2023, transitioning from a Netherlands holding company structure to a Delaware corporation.

Core Laboratories operates through two complementary segments. The Reservoir Description segment encompasses the characterization of petroleum reservoir rock and reservoir fluid samples to increase production and improve recovery of crude oil and natural gas. This division provides laboratory-based analytical and field services, proprietary and joint industry studies, and manufactures associated laboratory equipment. Services in this segment account for approximately two-thirds of revenue through fluid analyses, with additional offerings supporting energy transition projects including carbon capture, utilization and storage, and geothermal initiatives. The Production Enhancement segment includes services and manufactured products associated with reservoir well completions, perforations, stimulation, production, and well abandonment. This division offers integrated diagnostic services, perforating technologies, and proprietary downhole energetic solutions.

For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, services accounted for 76 percent of revenue while product sales represented 24 percent. The company generated total consolidated revenue of $526.5 million, with non-U.S. operations accounting for 66 percent of revenue. Core Laboratories manufactures products primarily in four facilities for global distribution.

The company maintains significant technological advantages through its proprietary databases, patented technologies, and artificial intelligence-driven platforms including its RAPID database and Advanced Rock Typing technology. Core Laboratories holds various patents, trade secrets, and proprietary designs for laboratory equipment and has developed industry-leading technologies for reservoir optimization and evaluation. The company's business strategy focuses on developing proprietary technologies through client-driven research and development, expanding services globally, and acquiring complementary technologies that enhance existing offerings.
