What Cytokinetics, Incorporated does
In the company’s own words
Cytokinetics, Incorporated (Nasdaq: CYTK) is a biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercializes small-molecule medicines targeting muscle function for cardiovascular and neuromuscular diseases. Its first commercial product, MYQORZO (aficamten), is an oral cardiac myosin inhibitor approved in the United States, European Union and China for adults with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; customers include patients and the specialist cardiologists who diagnose and treat the condition. The company is also developing aficamten for non-obstructive HCM, omecamtiv mecarbil, a cardiac myosin activator for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, ulacamten for a subset of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, and CK-089 for muscular dystrophy and other conditions involving impaired muscle function. Cytokinetics operates as an integrated specialty biopharmaceutical business, combining research and development with commercialization; it uses licensing partners for aficamten in China and Japan and relies on third parties for manufacturing. In 2025, it received FDA approval for MYQORZO and began U.S. commercial sales in early 2026. Its website is www.cytokinetics.com.
