DFIN serves public and private companies, mutual funds, and other regulated investment firms by providing regulatory filing and deal solutions through software, technology-enabled services, and print and distribution capabilities. The company helps clients comply with Securities and Exchange Commission regulations and other applicable requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including the United States, Europe, and Canada.
The company operates through four reportable segments: Capital Markets – Software Solutions, Capital Markets – Compliance and Communications Management, Investment Companies – Software Solutions, and Investment Companies – Compliance and Communications Management. In 2025, capital markets software solutions represented approximately 44% of capital markets net sales, while tech-enabled services and print and distribution accounted for 56%. For investment companies, software solutions comprised approximately 53% of net sales, with tech-enabled services and print and distribution representing 47%.
DFIN's primary software platforms include ActiveDisclosure for compliance filing, Arc Suite for investment company regulatory management, and Venue for virtual data rooms and deal management.
