What EAGLE BANCORP INC does

In the company’s own words

Eagle Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGBN) operates as a bank holding company headquartered in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with its principal operating subsidiary being EagleBank, a Maryland-chartered commercial bank and member of the Federal Reserve System. The company maintains a digital presence at www.eaglebankcorp.com.

EagleBank provides comprehensive commercial and consumer banking services across twelve branch offices located in suburban Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia, supplemented by four lending centers and digital banking capabilities including remote deposit services and mobile banking platforms. The bank serves small, medium, and middle-sized businesses alongside consumer clients working or living in its primary market area.

The core business encompasses commercial lending for working capital, equipment purchases, real estate lines of credit, and government contract financing, along with asset-based lending and accounts receivable financing. The loan portfolio is heavily weighted toward commercial real estate, representing approximately eighty percent of total loans, with owner-occupied and construction loans comprising twenty-three percent and non-owner-occupied commercial real estate representing fifty-seven percent. The bank also originates Small Business Administration loans as a preferred lender and previously engaged in multifamily Federal Housing Administration lending before exiting that business in late 2024.

Deposit services include business and personal checking accounts, money market accounts, time deposits, and individual retirement accounts. The bank participates in the IntraFi CDARS and Insured Cash Sweep programs to enhance FDIC coverage and utilizes brokered deposits for asset-liability management. Treasury management services and cash management solutions are available to business clients.

The company maintains investment securities portfolios consisting primarily of U.S. agency bonds, government-sponsored enterprise mortgage-backed securities, municipal bonds, and corporate bonds. EagleBank operates three active direct subsidiaries: Bethesda Leasing LLC, Eagle Insurance Services LLC, and Landroval Municipal Finance Inc., which focuses on municipal debt lending.

As of December 31, 2025, the company employed 475 full and part-time employees across seventeen locations. The company has grown primarily through organic expansion since its 1997 incorporation, though it completed two whole bank acquisitions: Fidelity & Trust Financial Corporation in 2008 and Virginia Heritage Bank in 2014. Total consolidated assets reached $10.5 billion as of year-end 2025.
