The company operates through three primary reportable segments: Payment Services—Puerto Rico & Caribbean, Latin America Payments and Solutions, and Merchant Acquiring, with approximately 29% of revenue derived from its relationship with Popular, Inc. EVERTEC processes over ten billion transactions annually through electronic payment networks and provides a comprehensive suite of services spanning the entire payment processing value chain.

The company's core business encompasses merchant acquiring services that enable merchants to accept electronic payment methods including debit, credit, prepaid, and electronic benefit transfer cards; payment processing services for financial institutions and fintechs; and business solutions including core banking, cash processing, and IT outsourcing. EVERTEC owns and operates the ATH network, which it believes is one of the leading debit networks in Latin America, and owns Sinqia, a leading provider of technology solutions for financial institutions in Brazil. The company also recently acquired Tecnobank, a fintech vendor in Brazil's digital vehicle financing sector.

As of December 31, 2025, EVERTEC employed approximately 5,327 people across 24 offices in 26 countries, with 45% located in Brazil, 23% in Puerto Rico and the United States, and 32% across Latin America and the Caribbean. The company's business model is characterized by recurring revenue from mission-critical services, scalable end-to-end technology platforms, and significant operating efficiencies. EVERTEC's competitive strengths include market leadership across the transaction-processing value chain, broad and deep customer relationships with financial institutions and government agencies, proprietary intellectual property including the ATH and EVERTEC trademarks, and an experienced management team with extensive industry expertise.
