What Flagstar Bank, National Association does

In the company’s own words

Flagstar Bank, National Association operates as a national banking association headquartered in New York and serving customers through approximately 340 locations across nine states. The bank maintains a strong presence in the greater New York and New Jersey metropolitan region, the upper Midwest, and fast-growing markets in Florida and on the West Coast. The company also operates approximately 20 private banking branches primarily in the New York City metropolitan area and on the West Coast, serving high-net-worth individuals and their businesses. Visit www.flagstar.com for more information.

As of December 31, 2025, Flagstar Bank reported total assets of $87.5 billion, total loans of $61.0 billion, deposits of $66.0 billion, and stockholders' equity of $8.1 billion. The bank operates as a single reportable segment with one reporting unit. The company employs 5,631 people and maintains no unionized workforce.

Flagstar Bank provides traditional banking products and services including deposit accounts, commercial and industrial loans, commercial real estate lending, multi-family apartment financing, and mortgage offerings. The bank also offers non-deposit investment products and insurance services. The company competes for deposits and customers through its retail branch network, private banking locations, mortgage offerings, mobile banking platforms, and dedicated website providing 24-hour account access.

The bank's loan portfolio reflects its geographic footprint, with the vast majority of multi-family loans collateralized by rental apartment buildings in New York City, commercial real estate loans concentrated in the Northeast and Midwest, and commercial and industrial loans originated nationally to middle-market and mid-sized companies. The company has grown both organically and through strategic mergers and acquisitions, including its acquisition of Flagstar Bancorp, Inc. and the purchase and assumption of certain assets and liabilities of Signature Bridge Bank, N.A.

Effective October 17, 2025, Flagstar Bank completed an internal corporate reorganization eliminating its holding company structure, becoming the successor reporting company to Flagstar Financial, Inc. This reorganization simplified the corporate structure while maintaining substantially the same assets, liabilities, and shareholders' equity.
