What FLOTEK INDUSTRIES INC/CN does
In the company’s own words
Flotek Industries, Inc. (NYSE: FTK) operates as an advanced technology-driven chemical and data analytics company serving the energy sector. The company's website is www.flotekind.com. Flotek strives to provide sustainable solutions that reduce the environmental impact of energy production on air, water, land and people through two primary business segments.
The Chemistry Technologies segment designs, develops, manufactures, packages, distributes and markets optimized chemistry solutions that help customers improve return on invested capital, lower operational costs and achieve environmental benefits. These proprietary and specialty chemistries, combined with logistics and technology services, enable customers to pursue improved efficiencies throughout the chemical application lifecycle. The Data Analytics segment delivers real-time measurement information and insights through field-deployable, in-line optical near-infrared spectrometers that measure hydrocarbon flow quality, quantity and composition. These instruments process responses using advanced chemometrics modeling, artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to provide operational insights every five to fifteen seconds. The DA segment also provides mobile power generation solutions that enable operators to use lower-cost field gas as a replacement for diesel while reducing emissions.
Revenues from the ProFrac Agreement and Lease Agreement with ProFrac affiliates represented 62 percent of total revenues during 2025. The company serves customers spanning oil and gas supermajors, midstream companies, large gas processing plants, independent exploration and production companies and oilfield service companies. Flotek also recently expanded into utility infrastructure power support.
As of December 31, 2025, the company employed approximately 160 total employees, with 158 full-time staff members. The company maintains manufacturing, warehouse and research facilities supporting both segments, with sales offices and operations across North America and emerging international markets in the Middle East and Latin America. Flotek holds 144 granted patents as of December 31, 2025, including 113 in the Chemistry Technologies segment and 31 in the Data Analytics segment, along with 41 registered trademarks in the United States and abroad. The company was initially incorporated in British Columbia in 1985 and redomiciled to Delaware in 2001, with common stock trading on the New York Stock Exchange since December 2007.
