The company maintains its principal executive offices in New York and operates through its website at http://www.fipinc.com.
The company's portfolio spans four primary business lines. The Railroad segment, representing 34% of revenue, operates six short-line freight railroads and one switching company under the Transtar brand, serving major industrial customers including U.S. Steel Corporation. In August 2025, FTAI Infrastructure completed the acquisition of The Wheeling Corporation, adding the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway, a regional freight railroad operating over 1,000 miles of track across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland with approximately 420 employees. The Ports and Terminals business, accounting for 19% of revenue, includes Jefferson Terminal on the U.S. Gulf Coast and Repauno on the Delaware River, providing multimodal storage, transloading and handling services for crude oil, refined products and specialty chemicals. The Power and Gas segment, representing 36% of revenue, operates Long Ridge Energy & Power, a 485-megawatt combined-cycle power plant in Ohio with associated multimodal terminal capabilities. The Sustainability and Energy Transition business focuses on green technology investments including battery recycling through Aleon, spent catalyst recycling via Gladieux, and waste plastic conversion through Clean Planet USA.
As of December 31, 2025, the company maintained total consolidated assets of $5.7 billion with approximately 1,110 employees across its subsidiaries, of which roughly 640 are subject to collective bargaining agreements. The company is externally managed by FIG LLC, an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group, under a management agreement providing dedicated infrastructure investment professionals.
