What FutureFuel Corp. does

In the company’s own words

FutureFuel Corp. (NYSE: FF) operates as an integrated chemical and biofuels manufacturer headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas. The company maintains a 2,200-acre integrated facility featuring state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, on-site waste treatment infrastructure, and advanced laboratories. The company website is www.futurefuelcorporation.com.

FutureFuel operates through two primary business segments. The Chemicals segment, representing 62 percent of 2025 revenue, comprises custom manufacturing and performance chemicals operations. Custom manufacturing accounts for 54 percent of total revenue and involves producing unique specialty chemicals for strategic customers typically under long-term contracts, including biocides, specialty polymers, and dyes. Performance chemicals represent 8 percent of revenue and include multi-customer specialty products such as polymer modifiers for stain resistance and industrial solvents. The company serves diverse end-use markets including detergents, agrochemicals, automotive, oil and gas, coatings, nutrition, and polymer additives.

The Biofuels segment represents 38 percent of 2025 revenue and focuses on biodiesel production from various feedstocks including soy oil, poultry fat, used cooking oil, beef tallow, and choice white grease. The facility maintains demonstrated capacity of approximately 59 million gallons per year and produces biodiesel meeting ASTM D6751 standards. Biofuels operations generate valuable co-products including refined and crude glycerin and distillation residue.

The company employs approximately 493 full- and part-time non-union personnel, including chemists with advanced degrees, licensed professional engineers across multiple disciplines, and highly skilled operators. FutureFuel maintains ISO 9001 accreditation for quality management and BQ-9000 certification for biodiesel production. The company's competitive positioning derives from integrated infrastructure advantages, technical sophistication in complex chemical synthesis, operational reliability, and financial strength supporting long-term customer partnerships. The facility treats over 97 percent of generated waste on-site, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with waste transportation.
