In the company’s own words

Great Southern Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSBC) operates as a bank holding company and financial holding company headquartered in Springfield, Missouri. The company's primary subsidiary, Great Southern Bank, provides comprehensive banking and financial services through a network of 88 full-service retail banking centers across six states including Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Arkansas, and Nebraska. The company also maintains commercial loan production offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Omaha, and Phoenix, along with a mortgage lending office in Springfield. More information is available at www.greatsouthernbank.com.

Great Southern Bank was originally established in 1923 as a mutual savings and loan association and has evolved through multiple charter conversions, becoming a Missouri-chartered trust company equivalent to a commercial bank in 1998. The company's growth accelerated significantly through a series of FDIC-assisted acquisitions between 2009 and 2014, which substantially expanded its geographic footprint and asset base. These transactions included the acquisitions of TeamBank, Vantus Bank, Sun Security Bank, Inter Savings Bank, and Valley Bank, along with a branch acquisition from Fifth Third Bank in the St. Louis area.

As of December 31, 2025, Great Southern Bancorp maintained consolidated total assets of $5.60 billion, consolidated net loans of $4.36 billion, consolidated deposits of $4.48 billion, and consolidated total stockholders' equity of $636.1 million. The company serves approximately 192,900 customers across its operating region. The largest deposit and loan concentrations are in the Springfield and St. Louis market areas, with additional significant concentrations in Kansas City, Sioux City, Des Moines, Northwest Arkansas, Minneapolis, and the Quad Cities area of eastern Iowa.

The bank's lending strategy emphasizes commercial real estate, construction, and residential real estate loans, with commercial real estate representing approximately 35 percent of the total loan portfolio, other residential multi-family loans comprising 31 percent, and one- to four-family residential loans accounting for 18 percent. The company originates and holds adjustable-rate loans and shorter-term fixed-rate loans to manage interest rate risk while maintaining a diversified portfolio across multiple geographic markets and property types.
