Founded in 1959, the company conducts business across two primary reportable segments: Home and Building Products and Consumer and Professional Products, which generated approximately 63% and 37% of consolidated revenue respectively for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2025.
The Home and Building Products segment operates through Clopay Corporation, the largest manufacturer and marketer of residential and commercial garage doors and rolling steel doors in North America. Clopay serves home remodeling and renovation projects as well as commercial construction markets through approximately 3,100 employees and a network of 57 distribution centers across the United States and Canada. The segment maintains exclusive supplier relationships with major retailers including Home Depot and Menards and operates manufacturing facilities totaling approximately 2.1 million square feet.
Consumer and Professional Products is a global provider of branded consumer and professional tools, residential and commercial fans, and home storage and organization products, employing approximately 2,000 people worldwide. The segment operates through iconic brands including AMES (founded 1774), Hunter Fan (founded 1886), True Temper, and ClosetMaid. CPP distributes products globally through home centers, mass market retailers, industrial distributors, homebuilders, and e-commerce platforms, with significant customer relationships averaging approximately 30 years. The segment operates principal manufacturing facilities in Florida, Quebec, and Australia, supported by three major U.S. distribution centers totaling approximately 3 million square feet.
Griffon employs approximately 5,100 people across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and China. The company maintains a portfolio of approximately 1,564 registered trademarks and 855 issued patents, reflecting substantial investment in brand development and product innovation.
