What Helmerich & Payne, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Helmerich & Payne, Inc. (NYSE: HP) is a global drilling services company that provides performance-driven drilling solutions and technologies designed to make hydrocarbon recovery safer and more economical for oil and gas exploration and production companies. Founded in 1920 and incorporated in Delaware in 1940, the company operates one of the largest and most technologically advanced drilling rig fleets in the world.

The company operates through four reportable segments. North America Solutions, contributing approximately 63 percent of consolidated operating revenues, operates the largest AC drive drilling rig fleet in North America with a presence in most U.S. shale and unconventional basins, including leading market share in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford Shale. International Solutions, representing approximately 21.4 percent of revenues, conducts operations primarily in Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Oman, Bahrain, Germany, Colombia, and Kuwait, significantly expanded following the January 2025 acquisition of KCA Deutag International Limited. Offshore Solutions, accounting for approximately 13.9 percent of revenues, operates platform rigs in U.S. federal waters and provides management contract services in the North Sea, Angola, Azerbaijan, and Canada. Other operations include BENTEC manufacturing and engineering facilities, real estate holdings in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and captive insurance subsidiaries.

The company's core technology platform, the FlexRig®, represents a new generation of drilling rigs prioritizing safety, mobility, and performance. The company operates 238 super-spec rigs and maintains a fleet of approximately 368 available rigs globally. Helmerich & Payne employs approximately 15,700 employees across its U.S. and international operations. The company serves major integrated oil companies, large independent oil companies, and national oil companies through daywork contracts, performance-based contracts, and fixed-term agreements. The KCA Deutag acquisition significantly expanded the company's global footprint and added valuable offshore management expertise and manufacturing capabilities through BENTEC's four facilities. The company maintains its website at www.helmerichpayne.com.
