What Hillman Solutions Corp. does

In the company’s own words

Hillman Solutions Corp. (Nasdaq: HLMN) operates as one of North America's largest providers of hardware-related products and merchandising services to retail markets. The company maintains its website at www.hillmangroup.com and generated approximately $1.55 billion in net sales during fiscal 2025.

The company operates through three primary business segments. The Hardware and Protective Solutions segment, representing roughly 77 percent of revenues, distributes fasteners, builders hardware, threaded rod and metal shapes, rope and chain, letters and numbers and signs, and personal protective equipment including gloves and eyewear. The Robotics and Digital Solutions segment, contributing approximately 14 percent of revenues, provides software-enabled robotic key duplication and engraving solutions through proprietary systems including MinuteKey self-service kiosks and KeyKrafter store-assisted equipment, along with branded engraving kiosks such as Quick-Tag and FIDO. The Canada segment accounts for roughly 9 percent of revenues and distributes similar product lines to Canadian retailers and industrial customers.

Hillman serves a diverse customer base including national accounts such as Home Depot, Lowe's, Tractor Supply, Walmart, and Menard's, as well as franchise and independent retailers through cooperatives including Ace Hardware and Do It Best. The company's two largest customers represented approximately 43 percent of total revenues in 2025. The company maintains 24 strategically located distribution centers across North America and employs approximately 3,986 full-time and part-time employees, including a field sales and service organization of over 1,200 representatives.

Hillman's competitive positioning rests on its extensive direct sales force, proprietary product offerings, and in-store merchandising services that reduce retailer labor costs and inventory management burdens. The company sources approximately one-third of products from China, one-third from North American suppliers, and one-third from other countries. Founded in 1964 as Hillman Bolt & Screw Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio, the company expanded through multiple acquisitions and became publicly traded in 2021 following a merger with a special purpose acquisition company.
