What Immuneering Corp does
In the company’s own words
Immuneering Corporation (Nasdaq: IMRX) is a late-stage clinical oncology company focused on developing and commercializing an entirely new category of anti-cancer medicines called Deep Cyclic Inhibitors. The company's website is www.immuneering.com.
Founded in 2008, Immuneering leverages translational bioinformatics and proprietary 3D tumor modeling to discover and develop novel small molecule drug programs. The company's platform analyzes high-throughput molecular-level biochemical assays, including transcriptomics, genomics, and proteomics data, combined with in vitro studies using humanized 3D tumor growth assays designed to predict in vivo activity more accurately than traditional cell culture models.
The company's lead product candidate is atebimetinib (IMM-1-104), an oral, once-daily Deep Cyclic Inhibitor of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MEK) designed to improve durability and tolerability across multiple cancer indications, particularly MAPK pathway-driven tumors such as pancreatic cancer. Atebimetinib is currently in Phase 1/2a clinical trials and is expected to enter a Phase 3 registrational trial (MAPKeeper 301) in mid-2026 evaluating the drug in combination with modified gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel in first-line pancreatic cancer patients. The FDA has granted Fast Track designation for atebimetinib in multiple indications and orphan drug designation for pancreatic cancer treatment.
Immuneering's pipeline also includes envometinib (IMM-6-415), an allosteric MEK inhibitor in Phase 1/2a development, and additional early-stage discovery programs targeting core cancer signaling pathways outside the MAPK pathway. The company's differentiated approach aims to cyclically disrupt abnormal pathway activation while sparing healthy cells, contrasting with traditional targeted therapies that chronically suppress pathways and often result in toxicity and adaptive resistance.
The company has established clinical supply agreements with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals for Libtayo (cemiplimab) and with Eli Lilly for olomorasib to support combination therapy trials in lung cancer patients. Immuneering's multidisciplinary research and development team brings expertise from leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Regeneron, AstraZeneca, and Novartis.
