The company manufactures and distributes a comprehensive portfolio of protective apparel and equipment across multiple product categories. Its firefighter protective apparel and accessories line includes structural turnout gear, wildland firefighting apparel, helmets, gloves, and boots compliant with National Fire Protection Association and European conformity standards. Lakeland also produces high-end chemical protective suits manufactured from proprietary fabrics designed to protect against hazardous materials, biological toxins, and chemical warfare agents. The company's limited-use and disposable protective clothing serves industries including petrochemical refineries, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare facilities. Additionally, Lakeland manufactures durable woven garments and provides specialized services for inspection, cleaning, decontamination, maintenance, and repair of firefighting protective apparel in accordance with NFPA 1851 standards.

Lakeland operates through seven reportable geographic segments: USA Operations, Other Foreign, Europe, Mexico, Asia, Canada, and Latin America. The company maintains nine manufacturing facilities across eight countries on five continents, providing manufacturing capabilities and supply chain resilience. As of January 31, 2026, Lakeland employed approximately 2,600 people worldwide, with roughly 225 in the United States and 2,375 internationally. Approximately 57 percent of the global workforce is covered by collective bargaining agreements or works councils.

The company holds 42 active U.S. patents and 51 trademarks. Lakeland pursues a strategic acquisition strategy focused on expanding its fire services platform and complementary product offerings. Recent acquisitions include Veridian Limited, a firefighter protective apparel provider; LHD Group Deutschland and subsidiaries; Jolly Scarpe, an Italian and Romanian professional footwear manufacturer; Arizona PPE Recon; and California PPE Recon, both providing decontamination and inspection services for firefighting garments. In March 2026, Lakeland divested its high-performance FR/AR apparel and high visibility clothing lines to National Safety Apparel.
