(NYSE: LION) is one of the world's leading standalone, pure-play content companies operating a diversified portfolio of motion picture and television production and distribution businesses. The company maintains a library of more than 20,000 film and television titles and owns a world-class collection of valuable brands and franchises. Lionsgate's operations are organized into two reportable segments: Motion Picture, which contributed 60.8 percent of consolidated revenues, and Television Production, which accounted for 39.2 percent of revenues for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
The Motion Picture segment generates revenue through theatrical releases, home entertainment distribution across packaged media and digital platforms, television licensing, international distribution, and ancillary markets including games, music, and location-based entertainment. The company released twenty-four theatrical films during fiscal 2026 and operates a direct distribution subsidiary in the United Kingdom. The Television Production segment produces, syndicates, and distributes more than seventy-five television shows across more than forty networks, generating revenue from licensing to domestic and international markets, home entertainment, and ancillary sources.
Lionsgate's portfolio includes wholly-owned subsidiaries such as Artisan Pictures, eOne Entertainment, Mandate Pictures, and Summit Entertainment, as well as a 43 percent equity interest in Roadside Attractions. The company also maintains a significant ownership stake in 3 Arts Entertainment, a premier talent management and production powerhouse representing A-list creative talent and producing long-running hit series.
The company operates a Global Products and Experiences division that drives incremental revenue through live entertainment productions, interactive gaming, location-based attractions, and consumer merchandise based on its theatrical and television properties. As of May 21, 2026, Lionsgate employed 916 full-time employees worldwide, supplemented by consultants and project-based hires for specific productions.
