What Mineralys Therapeutics, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Ayala Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing medicines to treat diseases driven by dysregulated aldosterone. The company's primary product candidate is lorundrostat, a proprietary orally administered aldosterone synthase inhibitor designed to reduce aldosterone levels by inhibiting the CYP11B2 enzyme. Lorundrostat is being developed for the treatment of cardiorenal conditions affected by dysregulated aldosterone, including hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and obstructive sleep apnea.

The company operates as a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical enterprise with no approved products currently on the market. Ayala Pharmaceuticals completed six clinical trials of lorundrostat, including two pivotal Phase 3 and Phase 2 trials called Launch-HTN and Advance-HTN that demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful reductions in systolic blood pressure. The company submitted a New Drug Application to the FDA in December 2025 for lorundrostat for the treatment of hypertension in combination with other antihypertensive drugs, with a Prescription Drug User Fee Act target action date of December 22, 2026.

The company holds an exclusive worldwide license agreement with Tanabe Pharma Corporation, entered into in July 2020, which grants Ayala Pharmaceuticals rights to develop and commercialize lorundrostat. Under this agreement, the company has paid development milestones totaling nine million dollars and faces potential commercial milestone payments up to one hundred sixty-five million dollars upon regulatory approval and achievement of sales targets, along with tiered royalties on net sales.

Ayala Pharmaceuticals was founded in 2019 by Catalys Pacific and has raised approximately 1.1 billion dollars in aggregate gross proceeds through various equity and debt offerings. The company does not operate manufacturing facilities and relies on third-party contract manufacturers for raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and finished product candidates. The company's management team comprises industry veterans with experience at major pharmaceutical companies including Merck, Novartis, Vertex, and others. Ayala Pharmaceuticals is classified as a smaller reporting company and is not a well-known seasoned issuer.
