The company's Nuclear & Safety segment provides radiation protection, measurement and monitoring solutions for nuclear power plants, research reactors, fuel cycle facilities and industrial applications. Products include reactor instrumentation and control detectors, radiation protection systems, waste management solutions, imaging systems and laboratory instruments for spectroscopy and radionuclide analysis. The Medical segment delivers quality assurance solutions for radiation oncology, nuclear medicine equipment, radiopharmaceutical production systems and occupational dosimetry services. Mirion's medical solutions serve approximately eighty percent of global cancer centers, while its nuclear solutions are deployed in more than ninety-eight percent of nuclear power plants worldwide.
The company maintains a presence in over one hundred twenty countries and serves a diverse customer base including nuclear utilities, hospitals, cancer centers, government agencies, military organizations, research laboratories and industrial companies. No single customer represents more than five percent of consolidated revenue. Mirion employs approximately 3,300 people, with production personnel representing fifty-seven percent of the workforce and an engineering and research and development organization of approximately 534 scientists, engineers and technicians representing sixteen percent of total headcount.
Mirion possesses a substantial intellectual property portfolio including approximately 78 issued U.S. utility patents and 105 issued foreign utility patents, supported by trade secrets and proprietary know-how. The company has executed a disciplined acquisition strategy, integrating eighteen companies since 2016 to expand its product portfolio, strengthen supply chain capabilities and enter adjacent markets. This acquisition-driven growth strategy, combined with a large installed base of aging equipment requiring replacement and upgrade cycles, generates recurring revenue streams and cross-selling opportunities across its diversified end markets.
