The Piping Systems segment manufactures and distributes copper tube, fittings, line sets, and steel pipe nipples, while also reselling brass and plastic plumbing valves, malleable iron fittings, and faucets. This segment operates manufacturing facilities across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Mexico, and the Middle East through subsidiaries including Great Lakes Copper, European Operations, Jungwoo-Mueller, and Mueller Middle East. The Industrial Metals segment produces brass rod and shapes, aluminum and copper impact extrusions, brass and aluminum forgings, valves, fluid control solutions, specialty tube products, and wire and cable solutions. This segment serves OEMs in automotive, industrial, construction, and utility markets. The Climate segment designs and manufactures refrigeration valves, protection devices, high-pressure components, coaxial heat exchangers, and insulated HVAC flexible duct systems for commercial and residential applications.

Mueller employs approximately 4,832 employees, of which roughly 1,820 are represented by various unions. The company maintains manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, with significant operations in Mississippi, Michigan, Illinois, Arkansas, and Texas. The company's product portfolio serves diverse end markets including new housing construction, commercial building projects, repairs and remodeling, and various transportation and industrial applications.

Mueller's business model centers on manufacturing high-quality metal products and components while maintaining strategic distribution networks. The company sources raw materials including copper, brass, zinc, and aluminum through supply contracts and open market purchases. Recent acquisitions including Elkhart Products Corporation and Nehring Electrical Works Company have expanded Mueller's capabilities in plumbing products and energy infrastructure, respectively.
