Mueller Water Products, Inc. (NYSE: MWA) is a leading manufacturer and marketer of products and solutions used in the transmission, distribution and measurement of water in North America. The company operates through two primary business segments: Water Flow Solutions, which represents approximately 58 percent of consolidated net sales, and Water Management Solutions, which accounts for approximately 42 percent of consolidated net sales. Mueller Water Products generated consolidated net sales of $1,429.7 million in fiscal year 2025.
The Water Flow Solutions segment manufactures and sells iron gate valves, specialty valves including butterfly, tapping, check, knife, plug and ball valves, and service brass products under brand names including Mueller, Pratt, and U.S. Pipe Valve and Hydrant. These products are used to control distribution and transmission of potable and non-potable water across sizes ranging from three-quarter inch to 36 inches in diameter, with custom larger valves available.
The Water Management Solutions segment produces fire hydrants in both dry-barrel and wet-barrel configurations, pipe repair products, natural gas distribution equipment, water metering systems, leak detection and pipe condition assessment services, and pressure management and control products. Key brands in this segment include Mueller, U.S. Pipe Valve and Hydrant, Jones, HYMAX, Krausz, Echologics, and Singer Valve.
Mueller Water Products operates ten manufacturing facilities located in the United States, Israel and China, performing foundry, machining, fabrication, assembly, testing and painting operations. The company employs approximately people across these operations, with 83 percent of the workforce based in the United States. The company maintains an extensive distribution network primarily through national and regional waterworks distributors serving municipalities, water and wastewater utilities, gas utilities, and construction contractors throughout North America.
The company's competitive strengths include a large installed base of products, strong brand recognition particularly for the Mueller brand, specified positions with major metropolitan areas, long-standing distributor relationships, and proprietary technologies in leak detection and repair solutions.
