The company rents, designs, installs, services and maintains natural gas engine and electric motor drive compressors for oil and gas production and processing facilities, along with aftermarket services including call-out services on customer-owned equipment and commissioning of new units.

The company operates three primary business segments: Rental, which generates the majority of revenues through compression unit rentals to exploration and production companies; Sales, which involves the design and engineering of compressor components manufactured by original equipment manufacturers; and Aftermarket Services, which provides maintenance, overhauls and installation support on a contract and as-needed basis. As of December 31, 2025, the company maintained a rental fleet of 1,914 compressors totaling 662,542 horsepower, with approximately 1,245 units representing 562,676 horsepower actively rented to customers. The Permian Basin represents the company's largest rental area, accounting for 78 percent of rental revenues in 2025, with additional operations across other major oil and gas producing regions including the San Juan Basin, Utica and Marcellus Shales, Texas Panhandle, Barnett Shale and Eagle Ford Shale.

The company serves approximately 60 customers, with significant concentration among major and independent oil and gas exploration and production companies. Rental revenues reached approximately 164 million in 2025, reflecting a 14 percent increase driven by fleet expansion of approximately 11 percent through the addition of 70 new large horsepower compressor units.

Natural Gas Services Group maintains competitive advantages through strong operational performance and mechanical availability, innovative rental compression units featuring proprietary eComp technology for emissions reduction and SMART telemetry software, long-standing customer relationships, high-level customer service capabilities, and a strong balance sheet enabling strategic market share gains. The company's fleet includes large, medium and small horsepower applications serving both conventional and unconventional oil and gas production, with approximately three percent of the fleet powered by electricity. The company is headquartered in Southlake, Texas with administrative offices in Midland, Texas, an engineering facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma and service facilities across major oil and gas producing basins.
