What OneWater Marine Inc. does
In the company’s own words
OneWater Marine Inc. (NASDAQ: ONEW) operates as one of the largest and fastest-growing marine retailers in the United States. The company's website is www.onewatermarine.com.
OneWater Marine operates through two primary reportable segments: Dealerships and Distribution. The Dealerships segment, representing approximately 92 percent of revenues, encompasses 95 retail locations across 17 states including Florida, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia. These dealerships engage in the sale of new and pre-owned recreational boats, yachts, and related marine products, along with arranging financing and insurance products, performing repair and maintenance services, and offering marina services at select locations. The Distribution segment, comprising approximately 8 percent of revenues, operates nine distribution centers and warehouses across four states through three fully-owned businesses: PartsVu, Ocean Bio-Chem, and T-H Marine. This segment manufactures, assembles, and distributes marine-related parts and accessories to manufacturers, retailers, and direct consumers.
The company offers a diverse portfolio of boat brands across multiple categories including fishing boats, pontoon boats, runabouts, wake and ski boats, and yachts from over 35 manufacturers covering more than 50 brands. No single brand accounts for more than 7 percent of total sales volume. In fiscal year 2025, the company sold over 9,500 new and pre-owned boats. Revenue streams include new boat sales, pre-owned boat sales, finance and insurance products, repair and maintenance services, and parts and accessories, with non-boat sales representing approximately 18.7 percent of revenue and 41.7 percent of gross profit.
OneWater Marine was formed in 2014 through the combination of Singleton Marine and Legendary Marine. Since that combination, the company has completed 35 acquisitions adding 83 dealerships and 12 distribution centers. The company maintains a decentralized operational structure with local management at individual dealerships while centralizing certain administrative functions. The company's scale enables it to leverage extensive inventory, provide competitive financing options, and generate meaningful revenue from high-margin service, parts, and accessories sales, differentiating it from smaller independent competitors.
