What Option Care Health, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Option Care Health, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPCH) operates as the largest independent provider of home and alternate site infusion services in the United States through a national network of 196 locations spanning 43 states. The company maintains its corporate website at www.optioncarehealth.com and serves patients requiring complex and chronic medical condition treatments through infusion therapy delivered in home settings or at ambulatory infusion suites.

The company operates through a single reportable segment focused entirely on infusion services. Option Care Health's service portfolio encompasses anti-infective therapy, nutrition support, immunoglobulin infusion, chronic inflammatory disorder treatment, neurological disorder management, bleeding disorder therapy, women's health services, heart failure treatment, and various other specialized infusion therapies. The company operates 87 full-service pharmacies, including 73 with integrated ambulatory infusion suites, and maintains 109 stand-alone ambulatory infusion centers, with 27 featuring advanced practitioner capabilities.

The company employs approximately 8,266 total personnel, comprising 6,528 full-time and 1,738 part-time employees. Its multidisciplinary clinical team includes more than 5,000 clinicians, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and dietitians capable of providing infusion service coverage across nearly all United States regions.

Option Care Health generates revenue primarily from managed care organizations, commercial insurers, Medicare, Medicaid, and self-pay patients, with approximately 88 percent of revenue derived from managed care organizations and non-governmental third-party payers. The company's largest single payer represented approximately 14 percent of annual revenue, while direct government healthcare program reimbursement accounted for approximately 12 percent of revenue.

The company traces its origins to the 2015 acquisition of Walgreens Infusion Services by HC Group Holdings entities, which rebranded the business as Option Care, Inc. In 2019, HC Group Holdings merged with BioScrip, Inc., a national infusion and home care management solutions provider, with the combined entity rebranding as Option Care Health, Inc. This merger created a comprehensive platform combining extensive clinical care experience spanning over 40 years with national scale and operational capabilities. The company holds various trademarks and service marks including Option Care Health, BioScrip, Naven Health, and specialized program brands such as Factor Ape and Care Nav+.
