Ovintiv Inc. (NYSE: OVV) is a North American oil and natural gas exploration and production company, with operations in the United States and Canada and marketing activities for its oil, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and natural gas. Its customers include refiners, local distributing companies, energy marketing companies and aggregators. The company reports two operating segments: USA Operations, which includes the Permian in Texas and Anadarko in Oklahoma, and Canadian Operations, centered on the Montney in Alberta and British Columbia. In 2025, the U.S. segment generated 64% of upstream production revenue excluding hedging, while Canada accounted for 36%. Ovintiv’s production averaged 614,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2025, and it held approximately 1.8 million net acres across the two countries at year-end. Its portfolio includes oil, liquids-rich and natural gas properties, developed primarily through horizontal drilling. In 2025, Ovintiv acquired additional Montney assets and divested substantially all of its Uinta assets; it also completed the acquisition of NuVista Energy in February 2026.
