What PHINIA INC. does

In the company’s own words

PHINIA Inc. (NYSE: PHIN) is a global supplier of integrated components and systems designed to optimize performance, increase efficiency, and reduce emissions in combustion and hybrid propulsion applications. The company operates through two reportable segments: Fuel Systems and Aftermarket. The Fuel Systems segment, which generated approximately 67% of net sales in 2025, provides advanced fuel injection systems, fuel delivery modules, canisters, sensors, electronic control modules, and associated software for traditional and hybrid applications across commercial vehicles, light commercial vehicles, and light passenger vehicles. The Aftermarket segment, representing 33% of net sales, sells products to independent aftermarket customers and includes original equipment service solutions, remanufactured products, and starters and alternators to OEMs.

PHINIA was spun off from BorgWarner Inc. on July 3, 2023, as an independent publicly traded company. The separation included BorgWarner's Fuel Systems and Aftermarket businesses, which now operate under the PHINIA brand. In August 2025, PHINIA completed its first acquisition as an independent company, acquiring Swedish Electromagnet Invest AB, a provider of advanced natural gas, hydrogen, and alternative fuel ignition systems.

The company serves most major original equipment manufacturers globally, with General Motors representing approximately 18% of net sales. The top five customers account for 37% of total sales. PHINIA generated net sales of $3.483 billion in 2025, with approximately 37% derived from United States operations and 63% from international markets. The company maintains a geographically diverse workforce of 12,500 employees across the Americas, Asia, and Europe, with approximately 4,900 salaried and 7,600 hourly employees.

PHINIA holds over 2,750 active pending applications and issued patents worldwide and over 1,900 pending and registered trademarks. The company invests significantly in research and development, with net R&D costs of $105 million in 2025.
