In the company’s own words
ProFrac Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: PFHC) is a technology-focused, vertically integrated energy services company providing hydraulic fracturing, proppant production, manufacturing, and complementary products and services to upstream oil and natural gas exploration and production companies throughout North America. Founded in 2016, the company operates through four primary business segments: Stimulation Services, Proppant Production, Manufacturing, and Flotek Industries.
The Stimulation Services segment represents the company's core pressure pumping business, operating 22 active hydraulic fracturing fleets as of December 31, 2025, positioned across major unconventional basins including the Permian, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Appalachia, Bakken, and Rockies. The fleet comprises Tier IV dual-fuel and electric-powered equipment designed for demanding well completions requiring high pumping pressures and volumes. The Proppant Production segment operates eight frac sand mines with approximately 21.5 million tons of annual nameplate capacity, strategically located in the Haynesville, Permian, and Eagle Ford basins to serve both internal operations and third-party customers. The Manufacturing segment assembles and refurbishes fleets, rebuilds engines and transmissions, and produces hydraulic fracturing components including pumps, fluid ends, and power ends, enabling vertical integration and cost advantages. The Flotek segment provides specialty green chemistry and data analytics solutions for the energy industry.
The company also operates Livewire Power, which began operations in October 2024, providing onsite power generation services using natural gas reciprocating engines and turbine assets. ProFrac employed 2,280 people as of December 31, 2025, with no unionized workforce. The company maintains a diversified customer base with no single customer representing more than ten percent of consolidated revenues. ProFrac's differentiated business model emphasizes technological innovation, vertical integration, and strategic acquisitions to expand capabilities and market position. The company holds over 187 patents worldwide with more than 105 additional applications pending, particularly protecting electric fleet technology and preventative maintenance systems.
