Quanex Building Products Corporation (NYSE: NX) operates as a manufacturer and distributor of specialized components for original equipment manufacturers across the building products industry. The company's website is located at http://www.quanex.com.
The company manufactures energy-efficient flexible insulating glass spacers, extruded vinyl profiles, window and door screens, precision-formed metal and wood products, window and door seals, and window and door hardware. Additional product offerings include solar panel sealants, trim moldings, vinyl decking, water retention barriers, conservatory roof components, and commercial access solutions. Quanex serves customers in the window, door, solar, refrigeration, custom mixing, building access, and cabinetry markets, with a primary customer base concentrated in North America and the United Kingdom.
As of October 31, 2025, Quanex operated 48 manufacturing facilities globally, including 34 locations across 18 U.S. states, seven facilities in the United Kingdom, three in Mexico, two in Italy, one in Germany, and one in Canada. The company employed 7,071 full-time employees across its global operations. Quanex maintains a sales backlog of approximately $54.1 million and serves customers through a direct sales force in North America and Europe, supplemented by distributors and independent sales agents.
The company's business is largely dependent on residential remodeling and replacement activity and new home construction in its served markets. Quanex traces its origins to Michigan Seamless Tube Company, founded in 1927, which later became Quanex Corporation. The building products business was spun off in April 2008 following the separation of Quanex Corporation's vehicular and building products divisions.
