What Quantum Computing Inc. does
In the company’s own words
Quantum Computing Inc. (NASDAQ: QUBT) is an American quantum computing and photonics company headquartered in Hoboken, New Jersey. The company operates at www.quantumcomputinginc.com and develops quantum computing systems, artificial intelligence hardware, and sensing technologies utilizing integrated photonics and non-linear quantum optics.
The company's core technology platform, called Core Photonics Technology, enables the manipulation and measurement of single and entangled photons to create quantum computing solutions. QCi's primary product is the Entropy Quantum Computer, marketed under the "Dirac" product line, which solves complex optimization problems. Unlike competing cryogenic quantum systems based on superconducting or ion-trap architectures, QCi's quantum computers operate at room temperature with low power consumption, requiring no special cooling or shielding and compatible with standard server room infrastructure.
Beyond quantum computing, QCi has developed complementary products leveraging its photonics platform. The company offers Emucore, a reservoir computing machine for artificial intelligence and machine learning applications launched in 2023, and Neurawave, a photonics-based reservoir computer introduced in 2025. QCi also produces quantum sensing technologies including LiDAR systems for remote sensing and imaging, a Quantum Photonic Vibrometer for vibration detection, and quantum authentication systems for cybersecurity applications.
The company operates a state-of-the-art research and development facility in Tempe, Arizona focused on thin film lithium niobate chip design and manufacturing. In February 2026, QCi acquired Luminar Semiconductor, Inc., which provides advanced photonics semiconductor technologies and fabrication capabilities, significantly expanding the company's chip design and manufacturing capabilities.
As of December 31, 2025, QCi employed 72 full-time employees and 5 part-time contract staff, with 55 focused on product development. The company holds three granted United States patents and acquired 23 additional issued patents through the Luminar acquisition. QCi maintains an exclusive license to seven patents from Stevens Institute of Technology. The company's registered trademarks include QPhoton, QGraph, and Qatalyst.
