Ranger Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: RNG) operates as a provider of onshore high specification well service rigs, wireline services, and processing solutions across the United States oil and natural gas industry. The company's website is www.rangerenergy.com.
The company operates through three primary reportable segments. The High Specification Rigs segment provides advanced well service rigs and complementary equipment for well completion support, workovers, and well maintenance operations throughout the productive lifecycle of oil and natural gas wells. The Wireline Services segment delivers wireline completion and production services, including cased hole logging, perforating, mechanical services, and pipe recovery operations. The Processing Solutions and Ancillary Services segment offers equipment rentals, coil tubing services, decommissioning and plug and abandonment operations, and mechanical refrigeration units for natural gas processing.
As of December 31, 2025, Ranger operates a fleet of 431 well service rigs, including 193 active and marketable rigs and 182 available for reactivation. The company also maintains 65 wireline trucks, 29 high-pressure pump trucks, and approximately 1,500 light and medium duty trucks and vehicles. The gas processing operations include 30 mechanical refrigeration units, 60 gas coolers, and 13 generators.
Ranger employs approximately 2,300 full-time employees and serves approximately 180 distinct customers across most active oil and natural gas basins in the United States, including the Permian Basin, Denver-Julesburg Basin, Bakken Shale, Eagle Ford Shale, Haynesville Shale, and other major producing regions. During 2025, the company's top five customers represented approximately 73 percent of consolidated revenue.
In 2025, Ranger acquired American Well Services, a fleet operator of high specification rigs primarily operating in the Permian Basin, which was integrated into the company's existing High Specification Rigs and Processing Solutions segments.
