In the company’s own words
Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPB) operates as a diversified global branded consumer products and home essentials company serving customers worldwide through www.spectrumbrands.com. The company manufactures, markets, and distributes products across three vertically integrated, product-focused segments that collectively generated net sales across North America, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific regions.
The Global Pet Care segment sells companion animal products including rawhide and rawhide-free chews and treats, dog and cat food, and aquatics products encompassing consumer and commercial aquarium kits, equipment, and consumables. The Home and Garden segment offers household and outdoor pest control solutions, repellents, and cleaning products under brands including Cutter, Hot Shot, Repel, and Rejuvenate. The Home and Personal Care segment manufactures small home appliances such as toaster ovens, coffeemakers, air fryers, and personal care appliances including hair dryers and electric shavers under brands including Remington, Hamilton Beach, and Emeril, with certain products sold under licensed Black+Decker and Emeril Legasse trademarks.
Spectrum Brands maintains significant concentration among major retail customers, with Amazon and Walmart representing substantial portions of sales across multiple segments. The company operates manufacturing facilities in the United States and Germany, with additional production sourced from third-party suppliers primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. The company employs approximately 3,000 full-time employees worldwide, with approximately 32 percent of the labor force covered by collective bargaining agreements.
The company's portfolio includes numerous established brands recognized globally across multiple product categories. Spectrum Brands competes based on brand strength, product innovation, quality, performance, advertising, and relationships with retail partners and distributors. The company has announced plans to separate its Home and Personal Care business into an independent, publicly traded company while creating a pure-play consumer products company composed of its Global Pet Care and Home and Garden businesses, subject to various conditions and market considerations.
