The company markets its integrated platform under the TrinityRail brand, which also encompasses RSI Logistics, a software and logistics solutions provider, and Holden America, a supplier of railcar parts and components. Trinity was incorporated in 1933 and maintains its principal executive offices in Dallas, Texas. The company's website is www.trin.net.
The Railcar Leasing and Services Group operates a substantial lease fleet of 101,485 railcars with 97.1% utilization as of December 31, 2025, serving industrial shippers and railroads across refined products and chemicals, energy, agriculture, construction and metals, and consumer products markets. Through wholly-owned subsidiaries including Trinity Industries Leasing Company and partially-owned entities, the group provides full-service operating leases, fleet maintenance and management services, and digital supply chain solutions. The Rail Products Group manufactures freight and tank railcars through facilities in the United States and Mexico, competing as a leading North American railcar manufacturer. This segment also offers sustainable railcar conversion programs and manufactures complementary parts and components.

The company's manufacturing operations depend significantly on steel and specialty components, with input costs representing more than 70% of typical railcar manufacturing costs. All railcar manufacturing and maintenance facilities in both countries, along with corporate headquarters, maintain ISO 45001 occupational health and safety and ISO 14001 environmental management certifications. Trinity competes primarily against five major railcar lessors and four major railcar manufacturers in North America.
