What Turning Point Brands, Inc. does
In the company’s own words
Turning Point Brands, Inc. (NYSE: TPB) is a leading manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of branded consumer products serving adult consumers in the alternative smoking accessories and other tobacco products industries. The company operates through two reportable segments: Zig-Zag Products and Stoker's Products, following the January 2025 disposition of its Creative Distribution Solutions segment.
The Zig-Zag Products segment markets and distributes rolling papers, tubes, related accessories, finished cigars, and make-your-own cigar wraps under the iconic Zig-Zag brand, which holds approximately 33 percent market share as the number one premium and overall rolling paper brand in the United States. The segment also includes a majority stake in Turning Point Brands Canada, a specialty marketing and distribution firm focused on cannabis accessories and tobacco products in Canada. The Stoker's Products segment manufactures and markets moist snuff tobacco and loose-leaf chewing tobacco under the Stoker's brand, along with modern oral nicotine products including FRE and ALP brands. Stoker's holds the number one position in the loose-leaf chewing tobacco market with approximately 34 percent market share and ranks among the fastest-growing moist snuff brands.
As of December 31, 2025, the company employed 484 full-time and part-time employees and distributed products to approximately 220,000 retail locations across North America through relationships with over 900 direct distributors and 600 secondary wholesalers. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Dresden, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky for moist snuff production and packaging, while leveraging an asset-light business model that outsources approximately 75 percent of production to established suppliers including Republic Technology International and Swedish Match.
Turning Point Brands was built through strategic acquisitions, including the 1997 acquisition of Zig-Zag distribution rights and the 2003 acquisition of the Stoker's brand. The company maintains a robust product pipeline and distribution infrastructure positioned to capitalize on secular growth trends in cannabinoid consumption and the alternative smoking accessories market.
