Ur-Energy Inc. (NYSE American: URG; TSX: URE) is a uranium mining and recovery company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, and operation of uranium mineral properties in the United States. The company operates through its Wyoming-based subsidiary, Lost Creek ISR, LLC, and focuses on in situ recovery (ISR) uranium extraction, a technique that minimizes surface disturbance and eliminates the need for tailings facilities.
The company's flagship asset is the Lost Creek Project in Sweetwater County, Wyoming's Great Divide Basin, which has been fully permitted and licensed since October 2012 and commenced production operations in August 2013. Lost Creek represents the company's primary operating facility, featuring a fully integrated processing plant capable of capturing, concentrating, drying, and packaging uranium yellowcake for delivery to customers. The facility has a licensed processing capacity of up to 2.2 million pounds of U3O8 annually, with up to 1.2 million pounds per year producible from Lost Creek wellfields.
Ur-Energy's second material property is the Shirley Basin Project, also in Wyoming, which the company acquired as part of its 2013 acquisition of Pathfinder Mines Corporation. All major authorizations for Shirley Basin have been received, and the company plans to commence production in 2026. The company operates a satellite plant at Shirley Basin and plans to process loaded resin at its Lost Creek facility.
As of December 31, 2025, the company controls approximately 35,400 acres at the Lost Creek Property, including nearly 1,800 unpatented mining claims and three State of Wyoming mineral leases. The company's broader Wyoming portfolio encompasses approximately 48,000 acres across twelve projects, with ten located in the Great Divide Basin and additional properties including the Lucky Mc Project in the Gas Hills Uranium District.
The company holds multi-year sales agreements for uranium delivery ranging between 800,000 and 1,400,000 pounds U3O8 annually from 2026 through 2030. In 2025, Ur-Energy captured 370,893 pounds of U3O8 and sold 440,000 pounds from production and non-produced inventory sources.
