The company operates through its principal subsidiary, Westfield Bank, a federally-chartered savings bank established in 1853. The company provides comprehensive financial services to individuals and businesses throughout western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Westfield Bank operates twenty-five full-service branch locations across Hampden County and Hampshire County in Massachusetts and the Capital Region in Connecticut, complemented by seven freestanding automated teller machines and additional ATM access through third-party networks. The bank serves communities including Agawam, Chicopee, East Longmeadow, Feeding Hills, Holyoke, Huntington, Ludlow, South Hadley, Southwick, Springfield, Ware, West Springfield, and Westfield in Massachusetts, as well as Bloomfield, Enfield, Granby, and West Hartford in Connecticut.

The company's core business centers on lending and deposit-gathering activities. At December 31, 2025, Western New England Bancorp maintained consolidated total assets of $2.7 billion, total net loans of $2.2 billion, and total deposits of $2.4 billion. The loan portfolio consists primarily of commercial real estate loans representing 50.4 percent of total loans, one-to-four family residential real estate loans comprising 33.0 percent, home equity loans and lines of credit accounting for 6.3 percent, and commercial and industrial loans representing 10.2 percent.
