The company operates through two primary segments: Consumer Money Transfer, which represents 87 percent of consolidated revenues, and Consumer Services, which accounts for 13 percent of revenues. Western Union enables consumers, businesses, financial institutions, and governments to send money and make payments around the world through fast, reliable, and convenient channels.
The company's Consumer Money Transfer segment operates through an extensive global network of approximately 360,000 agent locations across more than 200 countries and territories, with roughly 90 percent of locations situated outside the United States. This network includes partnerships with major organizations such as post offices, banks, and retailers, as well as independent retail locations. Western Union processes money transfers in nearly 130 currencies and offers multiple service channels including retail locations, digital platforms, mobile applications, and branded websites. The Consumer Services segment encompasses bill payment services, money order services, travel money services, check acceptance services, media network operations, prepaid cards, lending partnerships, and digital wallets.
Western Union operates under multiple brands including Western Union, Vigo, and Orlandi Valuta, along with various product names such as Eurochange, Pago Fácil, Quick Collect, and Quick Pay.
